How would you reset SmartPortals in Windows Access, Active Client, Active Access? How would you disable SmartPortals in Windows Access, Active Client, Active Access to stop them from loading when a user logs in for the first time?
Resolution
Customize the SmartPortal security: 1) Launch Customization system 2) Click Security then expand the appropriate security group (usually Base CMS) 3) Choose LAN or Active Client or Active Access 4) Tab to SmartPortals 5) Uncheck Default on the desired SmartPortals 6) Click Ok twice to save the changes You also need to reset the SmartPortal preferences for the user: 1) Launch Query Analyzer. 2) Choose your ED database from the database drop down list. 3) Run the following SQL statement: update users set preferences = NULL, WAM_preferences = NULL where login_name '' where is the name of the user you want to prevent the loading of SmartPortals. NOTE: If you are not using CMS 3.2, remove "WAM_preferences = NULL" 4) Press F5 to execute the query If you are running Active Client or Active Access, shut down your Lifecycle Engine before logging back in to the system.
