How to: Disable call made to updates.pivotal.com

Detail
Regardless of whether you have DFO (Data Feed Objects) Smart Portal items on your eRelationship desktop or not, a call is still made to http://updates.pivotal.com to see if any of the DFOs have been updated and need to be downloaded.

How can this call to http://updates.pivotal.com be disabled?
Resolution
Place a copy of the catalog.xml in the FilePath. If this file exsists in the filepath it will cause the Windows Client to override the default platform behaviour. If the file is not in the FilePath, then the default behaviour (checking http://updates.pivotal.com) will apply.

Note - the minimum content necessary within the catalog.xml is:

http://updates.pivotal.com/catalog.xml

To create this file, open notepad, copy the above text into notepad, save it, and name this file as catalog.xml.
