Upon start-up of a Mobile, a user will recieve the following error message:
Error: Unable to instantiate httpxpt.exe
Resolution
Upon start-up, the HTTPXPT application tries to access the SyncStream database to retieve change data to be packaged and transported to the Parent Webstore.
One reason for this message is that the HTTPXPT application maybe starting up BEFORE the mobile SQL service and hence is unable to gain access to SQL.
In SyncStat, uncheck the 'Allow DSM to start-up automatically', stop Mobile Synchronization Status, and restart it. The DSM should start correctly and HTTPXPT should instantiate properly as well. Additionally, the next time the user restarts their machine, the should not receive the error.
Note however that the mobile user will need to manually start the DSM from SyncStat after making this change or their mobile DSM will not process changes (both inbound and outbound).
